For Anne and Wentworth, I've sometimes mused about what their jobs would be in the present day. Look, I'm doing this just for a bit of fun — I'm aware Anne could be a trust fund baby (but lets pretend her dad really is plowing through the family money, worse than his regency counterpart, and she chooses the work life - thus not having to bear her family that much as well). Will that mean it would be almost impossible for the actual story to play out? Yes, but I'm ignoring that. Let's just say this post is more about their characters (i'm being annoyingly selective about this).
I have quite a few jobs for Anne. The way she seamlessly handles the issues between the Musgroves? That's a diplomat right there. She'd be the ambassador that people genuinely like and are eager to work with. This role I feel like she'd like least, but don't many people utilise their skills in jobs that they're otherwise not fond of because it means having a financially stable and independent life? I will consider the fact that the issues are not completely resolved though (I think)...
Her nurturing side? The fact that kids are so comfortable around her and gravitate towards her, even in the little Walter way, is so evident of her being an early years/primary school teacher.
Her interest in poetry and prose (or should I say prose and poetry)? May I present to you: Professor Anne Elliot in the department of English.
Ooh, a concert pianist. Travelling around the world with her orchestra and being a renowned pianist! The renowned part is important, she deserves all the love.
She has quite a few options laid out for her as you can see. The jobs I mentioned above are quite broad terms, to varying degrees (apart from the last one I guess), i.e would she focus on eighteenth century works or would she delve into contemporary poetry? But that'll be a lot of writing that I'll end up unnecessarily fretting over in terms of correctness — also, I'm not smart enough for all that.
And Frederick would be an F1 driver—no this has absolutely NOTHING to do with my interest in F1, hate that damn sport anyway.
